Prior to joining Kroll, Todd was a vice president at Clearpath Alerts. In this role, he coordinated cyber physical security platforms and communications technologies to formulate security strategies, including extensive emergency and crisis planning, and conducted security assessments for clients. Before that, Todd was a senior director and chief security officer at Magic Leap. His previous private sector roles include as a senior advisor at Torchstone Global, where he advised on risk mitigation and security strategies, and as corporate security manager in charge of worldwide threat and executive protection at Texas Instruments.
Todd also led a distinguished career in the public sector, including as Assistant Secretary with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Supervisory Special Agent with the U.S. Department of State. While at the DHS, Todd focused on infrastructure protection, and was appointed by the President of the United States to orchestrate and execute a national public-private partnership strategy to identify, mitigate risk and enhance all-hazard resilience to U.S. critical infrastructure and public spaces. During his over 20-year career at the U.S. Department of State, Todd held senior leadership roles with the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), the department’s law enforcement and security arm that operates in 31 U.S. cities and more than 160 countries. Todd was responsible for protecting people, property and proprietary information, conducting international investigations, threat and cyber security analysis, and preventing terrorism. In 2013, Todd was chosen as one of five independent experts to serve on the Benghazi Best Practices Panel regarding the attack on the U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya.
Todd’s additional Diplomatic Security service experience includes serving as the Regional Security Officer (RSO) at the U.S. Embassy in Dublin, Ireland, and the U.S. Missions in Vienna, Austria. Todd also served as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Secretary of State’s Protective Detail, Assistant Regional Security Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia; Physical Security Division Program Manager in Washington, D.C.; and Special Agent in the New York field office.
Todd received a B.A. in political science and criminal justice from Ripon College, a special degree in international relations from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität in Bonn, Germany and completed the criminal justice program at American University.
