Adam Malone

Global Head, Acute Events

Adam Malone is Global Head, Acute Events in the Cyber Risk practice, based in Atlanta. Adam leverages more than two decades of experience in cybersecurity and technology leadership roles. He is a former cyber-focused FBI Special Agent and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

At Kroll, Adam deals with cyber crisis and transactional matters, including incident response and investigations, cyber readiness, cyber due diligence and cyber risk management in M&A and divesture transactions.

Prior to joining Kroll, Adam was a Partner at Ernst and Young (EY) in the Cyber Consulting practice. Adam worked with many large, multinational companies and their management teams to address cyber crises and challenges to proactively mitigate or respond to large and complex cyber issues. He has advised corporate boards of directors both independently and on behalf of management and provided education and awareness to National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) audiences. While at EY, Adam served in multiple leadership roles, including leading the EY Threat Resiliency practice, focusing on incident response and readiness, vulnerability management, attack and penetration testing, application security, SOC management and consulting and threat intelligence. 

More recently, Adam led the EY Cyber Consulting Private Equity sector, where he worked to support global private equity firms, assess the risk of their acquisitions, manage fluid cyber risk within portfolios and prepare for successful exits. Adam also led multiple global alliances with cyber vendors while at EY, and has worked extensively with law firms, regulators and federal agencies to help corporate executives achieve business outcomes. Prior to EY, Adam served in similar roles at PwC.

Before this, Adam served in the FBI as a special agent focused on cyber matters. He led global, complex investigations to disrupt and dismantle cybercriminal enterprises and nation-state supported groups. He worked closely with the US intelligence community and its allies to affect strategic cyber outcomes. His work was recognized and awarded within both the FBI and the broader U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC).

Adam has supported executives, board of directors, and the broader cyber community in many advisory, training, and awareness efforts. He has published several thought leadership articles on cyber risk management and is regularly asked to speak to business leaders and corporate teams on the topic of threat intelligence, how it can be used to quantify and mitigate risk and prioritize investments.

Adam holds an MBA from Faulkner University and a B.S. from the University of Louisville.
