The Challenge
Multiple parties involved in a litigation over municipal bond rate setting required a neutral examiner to test and report on the functionality and configuration of the software used to set rates within a major U.S. bank.
Kroll's Solution
Kroll was engaged for Joe Sremack, Managing Director in the Data Insights and Forensics practice, to serve as the neutral examiner of the rate-setting software. Joe performed document review, data testing and an on-site examination of the software. This process consisted of testing its current and past functionality, as well as answering specific key questions on granular access control and business logic. All testing was required to be completed within a single business day while on site.
The Impact
Joe submitted his neutral examination report that answered over 40 questions regarding the functionality and operations of the software. As a result, both parties agreed with his findings and were able to proceed in litigation without further questions or delays.
